The Kyrgyzstan K-9's are now being supported from March - Sept 2004 with 10 new members.

A note of thanks from the Kennel Master to those supporting the current Teams.

"Thanks Bonnie. I am enjoying getting to know all of these people through email. You can not even imagine the excitement that we get when we get a care package from all of you. I think the dogs are even starting to get excited when they get some of the toys you all send. I can not tell you enough how much this means to all of us. It is nice to know that people back at home are thinking about us and care about what we are here for."

I just wanted to touch base will all of you to let you know how much we appreciate all the support you have given the troops (dogs) and the people here. You all make being deployed a much more pleasurable experience. I don’t know if any of you really understands the effect your support has on all of us here. In a time when people are questioning the reasons we are here, it’s good to know people (all of you) are still willing to support the troops. It’s a hard job that you make easier. Please continue in your efforts. The longer we are here the more we need you.

Dear Ms. Buckley,

I wanted to say thank you for the boxes you have sent.. It has been a big help to the K-9 Handlers and the Marines out here it is always nice that there are people like you back in the states to go the extra mile and support us forward deployed Marines here over seas. My K-9 partner CChyna has been doing great she has been finding weapons in a few different places and works real hard standing her post at a gate in the mid days sun. I know that she really appreciates the support from you also. My unit stays very busy with these deployments and once again it is good to have a friend like you.

Items included in care packages: Kongs, frisbees, tug toys, jumbones, paw boots, goggles, shampoo, treats, cooling or thermal matts, cooling collars, eye & ear cleaners and snack foods for the Handler.

Military Working Dog - Retiree Fund ~ Occassionally there is a retired working dog who a K-9 Handler adopts who needs some extra health care. This fund helps handler's with their retired K-9's. (Such as the case of Joy's hip surgeries)
